Sunday evening online Meeting
Time & Location
About the event
I hope you are all staying safe and well
As usual, everyone across South Wales is invited to join a half hour meeting for worship, starting at 7pm on Sunday. Some Friends attend this evening meeting in addition to their own local worship held at another time, and for some Friends this is the only opportunity to attend meeting for worship. It's therefore a unique and well-attended occasion when Friends from several local meetings join together in worship. Everyone is welcome
Ask your clerk for the link.
The meeting is open to join after 6:45. We settle into silence at 6:55 to enable worship to begin in stillness at 7 and to help the meeting be rightly held.
At 7.30 the elder present will invite us to move into a period of ‘After Word’, when we hold the stillness for a further 10-15 minutes for anyone to offer a thought that arose for them in worship or to respond to the reading or other ministry. The elder will draw After Word to a close when it seems right and invite conversation up to 8pm, or longer if Friends wish to stay.
A couple of notes to help Zoom worship work well for us:
Your microphone will be muted on joining. You are welcome to unmute if you wish, but it helps to stay muted if there is background noise in your home. If the elder notices noise before you do, they might mute you (no offence!)
As the meeting will include people from different LMs, it helps us get to know one another if our full name and meeting are shown with our image on the screen. To change this, click on the 3 little dots in a blue rectangle above your image and click ‘Rename’. Then type in the box and click to enter the change.
We look forward to seeing you at meeting for worship.
